The success of a podcast depends on many factors, but none more important than identifying and understanding your target audience. We spoke a bit about this in last week’s blog on starting a podcast but I believe it is so important it deserves its own post.

By knowing who you are speaking to, you can create content that is tailored to their interests and needs. In this post, we will go over the steps you can take to identify your target audience and ensure your podcast is a hit.

Determine your niche

Research your competitors audiences 

Once you have determined your niche, research other podcasts that cover similar topics. Take note of their target audience and see if there are any gaps or areas where you can differentiate yourself.
